Sharjah's air pollution on some days reaches the same hazardous levels as the world's most polluted cities such as Beijing and Tokyo, a survey found.

Tariq Majeed, associate professor of physics at the American University of Sharjah, said Saudi Arabia, Iran and Qatar could be sources of the pollutants, The National reported.
