Thailand: Demand for political-violence insurance picks up, says Muang Thai Insurance

Thailand-based Muang Thai Insurance P.C.L. said demand for political-violence insurance has risen as many businesses are uncertain when the current unrest will end, The Nation reported.

The insurer expects its premium from political-violence insurance to amount to 300 million Thai baht ($9 million) in 2014. The insurer's chief executive Nualphan Lamsam said the political risk could also affect its business.
