Canada: June 2013 floods cause $46 million in damage to Stampede Park buildings, facilities

The June 2013 floods caused around $51 million Canadian ($46 million) worth of damage to buildings and facilities at Stampede Park, The Calgary Herald reported.

Vern Kimball, chief executive of the Calgary Stampede, estimates the cost for restoration and mitigation to be around CAD 65 million. Mr. Kimball said "we would expect to get 95% plus covered by insurance." He added: "We think that everything will be covered except for just over a million dollars."
