Thailand tourism likely to face $2.7 billion loss as unrest continues

Tourism Authority of Thailand said the financial loss from the ongoing political unrest could amount to $2.7 billion over the first two quarters of 2014, especially if the situation continues into March and April 2014, International Business Times reported.

Several hotels saw a drop in occupancy rates, while some airlines canceled flights into Bangkok.

Clashes between security forces and protesters have left three people dead.
