BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Fraser Smart named president of Buck Consultants

Buck Consultants L.L.C. on Thursday said it has named Fraser Smart, as its president, effective immediately.

In his new position, Mr. Smart will relocate from London to New York, where Buck is based. He succeeds Mike Roberts, Buck's president since 2010, who resigned to return to the United Kingdom for family reasons, a Buck spokesman said.

Mr. Smart, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, joined Buck in 2006 to manage the consultant's offices in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Manchester, England. He was previously the benefit consultant's managing director for Europe. He is a graduate of Edinburgh University and a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

“I look forward to bringing insights into the successes we have had in the United Kingdom and applying them broadly across Buck so that we continue to anticipate the needs of our clients around the world and deliver on our promises to them,” Mr. Smart said in a statement.

Steven White, managing director of Buck Global Investment Advisors and Global Benefits Administration, succeeds Mr. Smart as the managing director for Europe. In that role, he will have responsibility for Buck's administration and consulting business in Europe.
