India: Government to prescribe policy of compulsory recalls for vehicles

The Indian government is set to lay down a policy of compulsory recalls that will put an end to the present system of voluntary recalls by automakers, among other things, The Times of India reported.

Testing agencies will be authorized to order production stoppage of a vehicle if major violations or deviation from the specified requirements are found in the samples.
