Rating de Seguros expects Brazil's insurance sector revenues to reach 202 billion Brazilian reais ($84.84 billion) in 2014, a year-on-year increase of 12%, BNamericas reported.

Property and casualty and health insurance are forecast to make up for BRL 119 billion ($49.94 billion) of the total.

Total insurance revenues are expected to account for 3.9% of Brazil's gross domestic product in 2014.
