South Korea culls 2% of poultry over bird flu fearsReprints
South Korea has slaughtered 2% of its poultry in order to curb the spread of bird flu, farm ministry officials said. Ministry data shows that the flu hit 15 poultry farms, and 19 cases of the disease were found in migratory birds, Reuters reported.
This prompted the killing of 2.8 million farm birds. An agriculture ministry source said "consumption has tumbled, causing huge indirect damage to the industry."
