Trinidad: December oil spills to cost Petrotrin nearly $8 million

The December 2013 oil spills will cost Petroleum Co. of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. more than $50 million Trinidadian ($7.7 million), Jamaludin Khan, vice president for exploration and production at the company, said.

This includes a TTD 20 million fine to the Environmental Management Authority, Trinidad Express reported. The company lost an estimated 7,000 barrels of oil from the 11 oil spills that took place in December 2013.
