Kazakhstan: Insurance market expands 19.6% to top $1.64 billion in 2013

Official figures show that Kazakhstan's insurance market expanded 19.6% year on year to top 253 billion Kazakhstani tenge ($1.64 billion) in 2013, Forinsurer reports.

Voluntary property insurance accounted for 42.6% of the total premiums.

Total assets of the insurers and reinsurers in the country increased 18.2% to KZT 523.41 billion ($3.39 billion).

There are 34 insurers in Kazakhstan as of the start of 2014.
