India's air safety ranking downgraded, insurance rates may rise

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has downgraded India's air safety ranking, reports The Times of India.

Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said the Federal Aviation Administration audited the Directorate General of Civil Aviation last December and found 33 issues.

Insurance rates may rise because of the increased risk perception.
