France: Paris at risk from major flood, says OECD

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has warned that the French region of Paris is at a risk of a major flooding from the Seine river, and a large event could cripple the region, Channel NewsAsia reports.

Immediate economic costs from the event could be anywhere between €3 billion ($4.11 billion) and €30 billion ($41.1 billion).

The OECD also highlighted that the development of factories and offices in flood-prone zones means more potential losses.
