French food group Groupe Danone S.A.'s Nutricia unit recalled $25.7 million New Zealand ($21 million) of infant formula from New Zealand when it got caught up in Fonterra's false food scare in 2013, financial statements for its local operation revealed.

Earlier in January 2014, the French group filed proceedings in Auckland's High Court seeking compensation over the recall, The New Zealand Herald reported.
