Jardine Lloyd Thompson Canada Inc., a unit of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C., has named David Richards as its next CEO.
He succeeds Steve Thomas, who decided to step down as CEO and return to Australia, the broker said Wednesday in a statement.
Mr. Richards, who has 24 years of industry experience, joined JLT Canada in 2013 as executive vice president and national specialty leader for natural resources, according to the statement.
“His client advocacy, management experience and deep knowledge of the Canadian insurance industry is ideally suited to leading JLT Canada on its next phase of growth, supported by the strong senior management team that has been assembled over the last two years and a continued appetite from the JLT Group to invest in building out its Canadian operations,” John Lloyd, chairman of JLT Canada, said in the statement.
Mr. Richards is based in Calgary, Alberta.
