Fitch Ratings Inc. said the biggest challenge for the European insurance industry at present is "generating sufficient investment yield" amid low interest rates, Bloomberg reported.

Fitch said "one possible way for insurers to compensate this is to shift asset allocations out of bonds and into asset classes with potentially higher investment returns."
