New Zealand: Strong quake shakes lower North IslandReprints
A powerful 6.2-magnitude earthquake has rattled the lower North Island of New Zealand, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Office workers had to evacuate their buildings in the Manawatu and Wairarapa areas.
The quake resulted in power outages in some areas, and also led to a chemical spill that caused three people to be hospitalized.
Some buildings appeared to be damaged.
