Nicaragua: Insurance industry's profits climb 31%

Nicaragua's insurance industry registered a 31.6% year-on-year increase in profits to $14.4 million in 2013, analyst Enrique López Peña said in a report citing figures from banking regulator Siboif.

Total premiums grew 13.5% to $157 million during the period, BNamericas reported. Claims increased 5.9% to $56.4 million.
