Indonesia: Eruptions at Mount Sinabung cause $60 million in crop losses

The Karo Agriculture and Plantation Agency said the regency had suffered crop losses of 712 billion Indonesian rupiahs ($60 million) since Mount Sinabung erupted in September 2013, The Jakarta Post reported.

Agustoni Tarigan, the agency's head, said volcanic ash had damaged large areas of agricultural land. Recently, Mount Sinabung erupted again, spewing volcanic ash, reports The Jakarta Post.
