Bulgaria: General insurance premiums up 8.1% during January-November 2013 period

Gross premiums reported by insurers in Bulgaria during the January to November 2013 period increased 9.5% year on year to 1.53 billion Bulgarian leva ($1.06 billion), Bulgarian news website 24chasa.bg reported.

Gross premiums reported by the general insurance sector totaled BGN 1.26 billion ($876.3 million), an 8.1% year-on-year increase, marking an improvement from the decline seen during the year-ago period.

The number of insurers increased to 28 as of the end of November 2013.
