Kenya: Mayfair Insurance pays out $6.9 million for damages from Westgate terror attack

Mayfair Insurance Co. Ltd. has paid out an additional 600 million Kenyan shillings ($6.9 million) to retailer Nakumatt Holdings Ltd. for losses suffered at its branch at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, following the September 2013 terrorist attacks, Capital FM reported.

This is the second settlement to the retailer bringing the total payout to KES 1 billion. Mayfair Insurance's managing director Tushar Shah said the settlement was part payment for damage to stock, furniture fitting and fixtures and business interruption.
