The current winter storm season in Europe is expected to add further pressure on insurers and reinsurers as related losses start to mount, Artemis.bm reported.
Risk Management Solutions Inc. said the current winter storm season on the continent is the most severe since 1990 and rainfall from the storms is also causing considerable flooding, mainly in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The additional pressure on insurers and reinsurers comes at a time when they are already facing the impacts of falling property catastrophe renewal rates, Artemis.bm reports.
