Macau has introduced new rules that require insurers to provide more data on their performance, Macau Business Daily reported.
The Monetary Authority of Macau, which regulates the insurance sector, said the rules were formed "in line with the recent development of international standards." The regulator said insurers not adhering to the rules could be penalized, have their directors suspended or have their licenses revoked.
