The Brazilian state of Espírito Santo witnessed floods and mudslides that left 23 people dead. Flight services in the country faced disruption. Meanwhile, much of the central and northern parts of Argentina suffered from a heat wave. Argentina's capital city Buenos Aires experienced power cuts and blackouts.
