The Apollo Theatre could face damages claim of more than £1 million ($1.6 million) after the ceiling collapsed on the audience during a performance, injuring up to 80 people, London Evening Standard reported.

Peter Todd, a partner at law firm Hodge Jones & Allen L.L.P., said he expects several victims to file a lawsuit against Nimax Theatres Ltd., which owns the Apollo.
