Ghana: Private insurers unhappy with government directive

Private insurers in Ghana are likely to be affected by a new government directive that requires ministries, departments and agencies to obtain or renew their cover only with those insurers which are wholly or partially owned by the state, Graphic Online reported.

Private insurers called the directive a discriminatory order which seeks to prevent them from participating in the government's insurance business.
