BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Arthur J. Gallagher buys mid-market broker McIntyre

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is acquiring a Cherry Hill, N.J.-based retail broker catering to upper middle-market and international companies.

Established in 2002, McIntyre Risk Management L.L.C. provides commercial property/casualty insurance and risk management products and services, as well as insurance support services including risk control strategies, contact reviews, claims management, loss control and modeling.

Though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, AJG reported that McIntyre Risk Management President Anthony McIntyre and his colleagues will continue to operate from their current Cherry Hills location under the direction of Douglas Brown, corporate vice president and Northeast regional president of Itasca, Ill.-based Arthur J. Gallagher.

“McIntyre has a team-based culture that is highly regarded for its strong focus on quality client service. Their extensive experience in commercial lines coverage and their team-based sales environment will be great complements to our Northeast region,” said J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher, in a statement. “The addition of the McIntyre team will also strengthen our footprint in the Philadelphia area.”

Arthur J. Gallagher is the third-largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance's 2013 ranking.
