Colombia has laid down specific provisions for branch offices of foreign insurers set up in the country, BNamericas reported.

The provisions state that the capital allocated to the branch offices shall be permanently backed by local assets. It also states that subscribed capital by shareholders will have to be paid at the time the branch office is established.
