New Zealand: Insurers warn flood cover in Nelson region likely to become more expensive

The 2011 and 2013 floods, which together brought claims of more than $50 million New Zealand ($41.3 million), are likely to make flood cover more expensive in the Nelson region, insurers have said.

Insurance Council chief executive Tim Grafton said the 2011 flood resulted in 1,358 claims, which included 84 for commercial material damage, 18 for business interruption and three for marine, among others, Stuff.co.nz reported.
