New Zealand: Coal firm’s insurer to pay $2.8 million to families of victims, survivors

Pike River Coal Ltd. would make a payment of $3.41 million New Zealand ($2.8 million) to the families of the 29 men who died, and the two survivors of November 2010 coal mining accident, Stuff.co.nz reported.

It is believed that the insurer covering the company's directors and officers for legal liabilities will make the payment.
