Ireland: Insurance broker to pay $747,000 settlement in underinsurance dispute

The Irish High Court has approved a settlement of €550,000 ($747,450) in dispute related to alleged underinsurance of Dublin-based Bloxham Stockbrokers, which was placed in liquidation in 2012, the Irish Times reported.

Bloxham's liquidators had sought €15 million in damages during their legal action against the stockbroking firm's insurance broker Robertson Low Insurances Ltd. The broker, which had countered the allegations, will now pay €550,000, plus legal costs.
