BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Pinnacol Assurance’s board of directors named Philip B. Kalin as the Denver-based workers comp insurer’s president and CEO, the company announced Thursday.

Mr. Kalin recently served as president and CEO of the Denver-based Center for Improving Value in Health Care, a nonprofit health improvement collaborative.

“Phil Kalin will be an extraordinary leader,” said Blair Richardson, Pinnacol’s board chairman, in a statement. “His experience in running complex organizations, his keen vision and insight into the forces that are changing our marketplace, and his long service in Colorado make him the perfect fit for this job. Phil will be a great partner, working with the board of directors to protect the interests of policyholders and injured workers and to ensure Pinnacol’s long-term success.”

Mr. Kalin said he was “humbled and thrilled to be selected Pinnacol’s president and CEO.”

“My commitment is to stay focused on Pinnacol’s long-standing tradition of providing outstanding customer service, to helping our policyholders create and maintain safe workplaces and to providing compassionate care to Colorado’s injured workers,” he said in the statement. “I also look forward to collaborating with stakeholders across the state to ensure that Pinnacol is a true partner in making Colorado the best place in the country to grow a business, live and work.”
