Integro Canada buys broker for film, TV production companies

Toronto-based Integro Canada Ltd. is acquiring Multimedia Risk Inc., a Canadian broker based in Winnipeg that specializes in providing coverage and services to the film and television production industries.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Since 1998, Multimedia Risk has provided insurance-related services to national and international firm and TV production firms of all sizes ranging from the smallest budget to blockbuster productions, Integro said Monday in a statement.

Multimedia risk is the latest of several entertainment sector acquisitions by Integro Canada's New York-based parent company, Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd., according to the statement.

In October, Integro acquired U.K.-based entertainment and sport specialist Doodson Broking Group.
