BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Secura Insurance announced this week that John Bykowski will retire in 2014 after 16 years as the company’s president and CEO.

Mr. Bykowski will be succeeded by Dave Gross, senior vice president of underwriting operations for the Appleton, Wis.-based property/casualty insurer. Mr. Gross will be named president and COO on Sept. 1, and will assume the chief executive position on July 2, 2014, the day after Mr. Bykowski’s scheduled retirement.

Senior vice president and CFO Kathryn Sieman will be named executive vice president on Sept. 1, while retaining her position as CFO. The new title will make her Secura’s second-highest ranking executive.

Mr. Gross and Ms. Sieman have been with Secura since 1997 and 1992, respectively.

“Dave's past success, his dedication to our associates and agency partners, and his passion for our industry prepare him well to become Secura’s next leader. Kathryn’s financial acumen, strategic ability, and drive for internal efficiency make her a strong complement to Dave,” Mr. Bykowski said in a statement released Tuesday. “I am confident the company remains in well-qualified hands with talented leaders able to take Secura successfully into the future.”
