AIR Worldwide Corp. has named Boston-based Bill Churney as its first chief operating officer.
Mr. Churney, who has been with AIR since 2002, will be responsible for all product management, software product development, global business development, marketing, consulting and client service activities, the catastrophe risk modeler said Tuesday in a statement.
“We’re extremely pleased to welcome Bill Churney to the newly created position of COO to help lead AIR as we continue to experience rapid growth in the global market for catastrophe modeling and related risk management services,” CEO Ming Lee said in the statement.
Previously, Mr. Churney was senior vice president of the modeler’s business development and marketing groups.
“Bill has been an invaluable member of our team for many years and has shown great leadership skills and a strong dedication to our mission and core values,” Mr. Lee said.
