Marsh Inc. has combined the various practice areas serving its largest clients into a single risk management practice group.
New York-based Marsh announced Tuesday it would combine G5 — its largest account platform — and its multinational practice with its existing risk management operations into a single global risk management practice group.
The newly combined group will be led by Tim Gardner, who previously was global sales leader for Marsh's large corporate business. As global leader of the risk management practice group, Mr. Gardner will continue to be based in New York and will report to Joe McSweeny, Marsh's global sales leader and president of Marsh's U.S. & Canada Division.
In a statement, Mr. McSweeny said combining the practice areas into a single group will allow Marsh to share best practices globally while leveraging the company's resources to best serve its large clients.
New chief client officers
Additionally, Marsh has created the role of chief client officer, with the division CCOs responsible for delivering client service improvements.
Tim Mahoney, formerly global risk management leader for the U.S., was named CCO in Marsh's U.S. and Canada division; and Gilbert Van den Eynde, formerly global G5 leader, will be CCO for the international division.
Alban Laloum will continue as leader of the multinational team in the new risk management practice group.
