Zurich North America has named Thomas Fioretti as chief risk engineering officer, effective Jan. 16.
Mr. Fioretti will be responsible for developing risk management and loss-prevention services for Zurich’s global corporate customers and North America commercial business divisions, the insurer said in a statement Tuesday. He will report to Dan Riordan, CEO of global corporate in North America, and Robert Gremli, global chief risk engineering officer for Zurich’s general insurance segment.
In 2010, Mr. Fioretti was named senior vice president of commercial markets. In his new position, he succeeds Armand Fernandez, who is retiring.
“Tom’s wealth of expertise and market-facing experience, in addition to his proven leadership skills, make him an ideal candidate for this important role,” said Mr. Riordan in a statement. “Risk engineering is a key element of our value proposition, and we’re confident that under Tom’s leadership the team will further strengthen Zurich’s reputation in the marketplace.”
Mr. Fioretti is based in New York.
