Five state insurance commissioners re-elected to posts

Insurance commissioners in five states, including four Democrats and one Republican, were re-elected to their posts Tuesday.

Adam Hamm, the Republican commissioner of the North Dakota Insurance Department since 2007, garnered the widest margin of victory, besting Democratic challenger Tom Porter by 27 percentage points.

Delaware Insurance Commissioner Karen Stewart also won a decisive victory in her bid for a second term, beating Republican challenger Benjamin Mobley by 24 percentage points.

Mike Kreidler was re-elected to a fourth term as insurance commissioner in Washington state by a nine-point margin, while voters in North Carolina re-elected Wayne Goodwin to a second term as insurance commissioner by four percentage points.

Voters in Montana elected Monica Lindeen by six percentage points to a second term as its commissioner of securities and insurance and Montana state auditor.
