LONDON—Chris Lay has been appointed to Marsh Inc.’s newly created position of business development leader for its international division, Marsh announced Thursday.
The division comprises all of Marsh’s operations outside North America.
Mr. Lay will keep his responsibilities as head of sales and head of middle market for Marsh’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region during a transitional period, Marsh said in a statement. He will continue to be based in London and will report to David Batchelor, president of Marsh’s international division.
In his new role, Mr. Lay will focus on delivering the full range of Marsh’s resources and skills to clients outside North America, according to the statement.
Mr. Lay joined Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. in 1984 and has held a variety of senior positions in the United Kingdom and across the EMEA region.
Marsh Inc. has appointed Doug Dundas as its global head of marketing and communications.
