BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

TORONTO—Jim Bradshaw has been named chairman of Willis Re's Canadian board of directors, the reinsurance arm of London-based brokerage Willis Group Holdings P.L.C. announced Tuesday.

Mr. Bradshaw remains CEO of Willis Re North America. He takes over the chairman role in Canada from Steve Hearn, who remains CEO of Willis Re.

Warren Neale, who was appointed to a new post on the Canadian board, will remain in his role as London-based managing director of Willis Re. He specializes in European and South African reinsurance programs and has placed coverage for global insurers with Canadian operations, Willis said.

Willis Re said the moves are intended to enhance collaboration between Willis Re Canada and the wider international Willis Re operations, Willis said in a statement.

“Our first year (following Willis Re opening its first office in Canada last year) has shown us the size of (the) opportunity, and to capitalize on this we are bolstering our presence and reconfirming our commitment to our local clients by bringing in some of our most experienced people,” Mr. Hearn said in the statement.

In another recent management shakeup, Willis Re said that it appointed Paddy Jago to the newly created position of Willis Re North America chairman.
