BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Insured losses in Texas wildfires top $250M: Industry group

AUSTIN, Texas—More than 180 wildfires that have ravaged Texas since Labor Day weekend could cause $250 million in insured losses, the Insurance Council of Texas said.

The Austin, Texas-based trade group said insured losses from fires near Bastrop, Texas, alone could reach $150 million.

The Austin-based Texas Forest Service said Tuesday that it has responded to 127 fires affecting 9,205 acres in the past seven days. As assessment crews continued to survey the damage, the agency estimated that more than 1,900 homes had been destroyed since Labor Day weekend.

The Insurance Council of Texas said earlier that the fire losses are the worst on record for Texas, which has been hammered by an extended drought.
