BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Awards recognize captive efforts

BURLINGTON, Vt.—The Vermont Captive Insurance Assn. on Wednesday honored three captive industry participants for their commitment to the association and service to the captive industry.

During the opening general session of the 2011 conference, the VCIA board presented this year's Industry Service Award to Debbie Lambert, a founding partner of accounting and consulting firm Johnson Lambert in Raleigh, N.C.

The board presents the Industry Service Award each year in recognition of support of the captive industry and contributions to its overall vitality and welfare.

In addition, the VCIA presented its annual Captive Crusader Award to Carol Pierce, vp of Munich Reinsurance America Inc. in New York and a VCIA board member. The Captive Crusader recipient is chosen by the VCIA's staff to recognize service and commitment to the organization.

The VCIA also presented a lifetime Honorary Member Award to John Primmer, who is a founding member of the law firm Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer in Burlington.

The association bestows the lifetime honorary membership on individuals who, through extended periods of outstanding service or achievement, have made contributions that have furthered the goals of the VCIA and strengthened the captive industry as a whole, and the Vermont domicile in particular.
