CHICAGO—Ryan Specialty Group L.L.C. has launched a managing general underwriter to specialize in renewable energy risks.
The MGU, called PER se, will write property/casualty coverage for facilities producing wind, solar, bio, hydro and other sources of renewable energy, Chicago-based Ryan said Tuesday in a statement.
Coverage will be written for construction of the energy facilities and exposures such as machinery breakdown, business interruption and others the projects will face after startup, Ryan said.
