PEMBROKE, Bermuda—Chief Financial Officer David Greenfield has resigned from AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. effective at the end of November, the Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer said Thursday.

Mr. Greenfield, who joined AXIS in 2006 as CFO, will leave effective Nov. 30.

Due to company policy, AXIS said in a statement that it will not comment on the specifics of Mr. Greenfield’s departure.

Prior to AXIS, Mr. Greenfield was a partner at KPMG L.L.P., which he joined in 1984.

A search for a successor is under way, AXIS said in the statement.
