BURLINGTON, Vt.—This year's annual conference of the Vermont Captive Insurance Assn. drew approximately 1,200 attendees to Burlington, Vt.

Attendees at the Aug. 10-12 VCIA gathering came from 42 states and nine countries and represented 347 organizations, according to VCIA officials.

Educational sessions covered topics such as captive governance, capital and collateral, medical benefits and captive reinsurance programs.

Next year's VCIA conference is scheduled for Aug. 9-11, 2011, in Burlington.
