ITASCA, Ill.—Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said that its net earnings for the first six months of this year were $73.2 million, up 4.2% from the same period a year ago.

The Itasca, Ill.-based brokerage also said Tuesday that its revenues for the first half of this year were $942 million, up from $854.7 million during the same period last year. For the second quarter, revenues rose 1.3% to $459.5 million.

Meanwhile, Gallagher said that its first-half commissions increased 2.9% to $461.2 million while its fees declined 2.5% to $344.4 million compared with the year-earlier period.
