HONG KONG—Jason Sadler, previously managing director of HSBC Holdings P.L.C., has been named head of CIGNA International’s health, life and accident operations in Hong Kong, CIGNA Corp. said Monday.

Mr. Sadler is responsible for expanding the business of the unit of Philadelphia-based CIGNA.

“Jason’s insurance career spans 21 years, and we’re very fortunate to gain his expertise and knowledge of the industry,” CIGNA International President William L. Atwell said in a statement. “With his breadth of experience and strong leadership skills, I’m confident he’ll be a great success in leading our team to meet our aggressive growth objectives, particularly in Asia.”

Mr. Sadler spent the past 16 years at HSBC, most recently managing the life, general, medical and corporate retirement business in Hong Kong. Before HSBC, Mr. Sadler held management positions with AXA Insurance in the United Kingdom and Zurich Financial Services.
