BOSTON—Liberty Mutual Group Inc. said Friday that it has reorganized its commercial markets unit, allowing agents and brokers a single point of contact to access property/casualty and specialty lines of insurance as well as claims and loss control services.
The new distribution and service management group will operate from six geographic divisions and a major-accounts division, the Boston-based insurer said in a statement.
“Our geographic divisions feature expertise in national accounts, middle market and field services, offering agents and brokers local decisionmaking and greater responsiveness to help them meet their clients’ wide-ranging needs,” J. Paul Condrin, president of Liberty Mutual’s commercial markets unit, said in the statement.
Mark A. Butler, previously chief operating officer of Liberty Mutual’s middle-market unit, has been named president of commercial markets, distribution and service management.
Liberty Mutual’s commercial markets operation is one of four strategic business units. The others are personal markets, agency markets and international operations.
