ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The Phoenix Insurance Co. provides workers compensation insurance for Emcore Corp., where a deadly workplace shooting incident took place Monday.
A gunman opened fire at an Emcore facility in Albuquerque, N.M., on Monday, killing two people and injuring four others before turning his gun on himself, according to news reports. The shooting reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Phoenix, a unit of Hartford, Conn.-based Travelers Cos. Inc., provides Emcore’s workers comp insurance, according to New Mexico’s Workers’ Compensation Administration. Death, medical and indemnity benefits related to the incident would be covered by workers compensation insurance, according to an administration spokesman.
