HAMILTON, Bermuda—Validus Holdings Ltd. said Friday its initial estimates on losses from the earthquake in Chile range between $170 million and $270 million.
Ed Noonan, Validus chairman and CEO, said in a statement that, based on the loss estimates, the Chilean earthquake “is one of the largest non-U.S. events in the history of the global reinsurance market.”
Hamilton, Bermuda-based Validus also said its initial loss estimate from Windstorm Xynthia ranges between $20 million and $30 million.
