PEMBROKE, Bermuda—PartnerRe Ltd. said it expects claims of $220 million to $320 million from the recent earthquake in Chile.
The Feb. 27 quake caused hundreds of deaths and devastated parts of Chile.
The reinsurer said Monday that its losses primarily will be in its global property/casualty and catastrophe units as well as operations at Paris Re Holdings Ltd., which PartnerRe acquired last year.
PartnerRe, based in Pembroke, Bermuda, also said it expects claims of $40 million to $70 million from Windstorm Xynthia, which killed more than 60 people and left widespread damage across five European countries late last month.
